4F SM Megamall, Fashion Hall

(August 10, 2025)

RATING: ❤️❤️❤️/5

==========

🏢DESIGN

I was scrolling through TikTok, as usual, looking for new coffee spots to discover when I came across Satchmi (pronounced Satch-mee), located on the 4th floor of Megamall’s Fashion Hall. From the video, the place looked like a nostalgic feast for the senses—decorated with vinyl records of famous artists, both old and new.

The moment I stepped inside, it was exactly as the TikTok video showed—warm yellow lights, brick-patterned wallpaper, and vinyl records displayed everywhere. The atmosphere transported me straight to the American 70s and 80s. At one point, I even felt like I was in an old country setup. The place was surprisingly big, looping around to occupy what seemed like the space of two regular Megamall shops.

The vibe leaned more toward the “masculine” side because the aura gave off that old-school mix of cigarette smoke and rowdy bar energy. (Not that anyone was smoking or being rowdy—it’s just the feel.) When I checked their website later, I learned that Satchmi isn’t just a coffee shop—it’s also a music store. That explained why I saw a customer actually buy a vinyl record from the wall display. You can even request to have it played in-store.

😋 TASTE

Now, about the coffee: it was… fine. Tasty, yes, but nothing that really stood out. This isn’t the type of coffee I’d crave or go out of my way for. On the left side of the shop was the coffee counter, which also served bread, cakes, and desserts. The other side focused on meals like salads, appetizers, and soups.

🧭 LOC ATION

Satchmi is located on the 4th floor of Megamall’s Fashion Hall. A well hidden place that is not crowded and a place where people who usually look for pricey items to shop. So basically, it is a perfect match for what their brand is. If I had one suggestion though, that is to open a branch in BGC probably along High Street, where there’s a higher concentration of customers who could afford their pricing.

💸 PRICE & SERVICE

The prices, however, were definitely on the high side—₱190 for a single latte plus an additional ₱9 service charge. Yikes. I get that I’m not the target market here, but it’s clear they’re aiming to position themselves as a “premium” coffee shop that also serves as a haven for music lovers. I did notice that the portion sizes for their burgers and cakes were reasonable for the ₱300+ price tag. Service was good, too—staff were polite and accommodating (as they should be, especially with a service charge).

📋CONCLUSION

Personally, Satchmi is more of a one-time experience. Coffee was just okay, but the overall visit was still enjoyable.
