==========

It is very rare to see a Christian-themed establishment nowadays. In this modern age, people who have a liberal mindset would get to cringe or avoid places where there are decorations filled with Bible verses or anything that relates to religion. Of course, we respect them, and to each their own, but as a person who is a member of a Charismatic group of the Catholic Church and someone who appreciates the Word of God, finding a place to just relax while drinking coffee and listening to worship songs in the background is such a treat.

The first time I heard worship songs in a café was in Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (CBTL). I was surprised to hear a well-known coffee spot to play such music. But I didn't think about it that much. I just assume that the manager of that particular branch that I went to is a Christian, and he just wants to play his Spotify playlist. But later on, I was quick to notice that every CBTL branch that I went to really did play worship songs! I'm not sure if this is really part of the company's culture, but nevertheless, I still feel blessed and grateful knowing this fact.

However, a part of me hopes that it would be great if more establishments could adopt this kind of idea. Not just playing worship songs but a place that is bold enough to design their business with their Christian beliefs.

Until I found out about DISCIPLE BREW. I was scrolling through TikTok when I came upon this coffee place located at ETON Centris. Since my workplace is located near the area, I went in as soon as my shift ended.

🏢DESIGN

As I walked in, the verse from Jeremiah 29:11 could be immediately seen. Beside it is a cartoonish drawing of Jesus Christ, which also greets you. On the far left, you'll find the words "THIS IS YOUR SAFE PLACE" written in big letters, which also brightly lights up. On the right is their Photo Wall taken by their past customers as a sort of remembrance.

But for me, the highlight of all of these aesthetic would be their Prayers and Praises Wall, where you can hang up your written praises and prayers to God. There were papers allotted for you to write your own, making the whole experience more interactive. When I saw it, my smile widened, and seeing that there are a lot of people who already wrote theirs makes me even happier.

The design of their restroom is also a plus. At the back of the door, a mirrored image of the words "YOU ARE ENOUGH" is written so when you look at the mirror in front of it, it can be read normally, which is very cool.

Overall, the place is homey and relaxing. The whole ambiance is simple but impactful.

😋 TASTE

I was amazed at how many different options they have on their menu, whether it may be their drinks or food. They have salads, a few appetizers, rice meals, burgers, etc. As for their coffee, they have the basics like Americano, cappuccino, latte, and cafe mocha. They also have a variety of non-coffee drinks like juices for those who doesn't like caffeine.

To keep up with its theme, the sizes of their drinks can be distinguished by some of the prominent names in the Bible. "DAVID" for smaller sizes and "GOLIATH" for bigger ones.

I ordered my usual latte, and for snacks, I tried their chicken salad and cheese sticks. The drink was great. The balance is right for me, and even though nothing spectacular stood out, it still did its job perfectly. The salad was good too. There are generous pieces of chicken cut into cubes; however, I find that the amount of dressing that they used was too much for me. On the other hand, the cheese inside the cheese sticks was creamy, smooth, and full.

🧭 LOCATION

Going to this place is not a problem; you can just hop on the MRT Northbound and drop off at the Quezon Avenue Station. ETON Centris is just a few steps away.

Another notable thing to mention is that I'm not sure if they really did it on purpose or they're just simply unaware of it, but I noticed that their coffee shop is just beside a Victory Church, which means that after their church service, attendees can just simply walk a few steps, and they already have a place where they can do their small groups while having their favorite meals.

💸 PRICE & SERVICE

The prices were a little bit expensive, but considering that they are located in a prime area, it is still reasonable. As for their staff, they are helpful and accommodating. They gladly answer my questions and accommodate my requests. They genuinely do their job very well.

📋CONCLUSION

St. James in the New Testament tells us that faith without work is dead. So whenever we get the chance to inspire others using God's Word, why not do it in a way where you can motivate the people around you and still be able to earn and provide for you and your family? You are not just helping others bring them closer to God; you are also telling them that God should not just be confined to the four corners of a church. Instead, He should be shared and be known by many.
