Who would’ve thought you could add protein to your coffee? Pretty exciting, right? I recently visited their very first branch at the 4/F Fashion Hall, SM Megamall, and tried their classic Iced Coffee.

🏢DESIGN

They don’t have a dedicated café space like others. Their booth isn’t huge either, but it feels just right for a pioneer store. At the counter, you’ll see a lineup of whey powders, creatine, and other supplements that they mix into your drinks for an extra boost.

😋 TASTE

The flavor is definitely unique. The vanilla whey stands out immediately—it’s a little on the sweet side for me, but they assured me there’s no added sugar, which is a big plus, especially for diabetics like myself. After a few sips, I felt slightly lightheaded—maybe from the protein?—but nothing too serious.

🧭 LOCATION

The location is somewhat tucked away, situated in the middle of SM Fashion Hall on the 4th floor. While the limited foot traffic makes it a peaceful escape from the noise, it could also pose a challenge when it comes to marketing their product.

💸 PRICE & SERVICE

A regular cup goes for ₱180, while the large size (which I ordered) is ₱210. A bit more expensive than regular coffee, but still fair considering the premium ingredients.

Their customer service skills could use some improvement. When I arrived, only one customer was ahead of me, yet no one acknowledged me right away, so I waited a few minutes before placing my order. Not a big issue since the staff are still new, but hopefully, they’ll improve on this.

📋CONCLUSION

Protein Bar is not your ordinary coffee stop—it’s coffee with a fitness twist. Definitely worth checking out if you’re curious or looking for a protein-packed alternative to your usual brew. When I was talking to one of their staff, she told me that their future plans would be setting up branches near gyms, which makes total sense since their drinks are designed for fitness-conscious customers. For non-coffee drinkers, they also offer juices and smoothies, so there’s something for everyone.
