"ASHES"

The final straw has come and everything comes to a halt. Words exchanged. Emotions erupted. And finally, we reach the peak of it all. As the ashes subside and the dust settled Here I am once again in a familiar place. I look on my left, I glance on my right realizing that it is just me once more. It is just so ironic that although I'm always ending up like this, I'm still not getting used to it. Because there's a part of me that still hopes, and dreams that everything will be better. But alas, those dreams remain distant and too far away. Now, difficult as it may seem, I have no choice but to accept the fact that I'm fighting alone. A fight with no backup or Plan B, knowing that no one will come for me. And when I become tired and bruised up, I need to make myself believe that there will be no more Home to go back to. It has been destroyed and crumbled in just a second. I lay down my sword. I give up my shield. Because what is the use of fighting if there will be no more reason to fight anymore? When tears rolled down my eyes, with my face full of shame and brokenness I remember the moments when everything is still alive. The stories we've shared and memories we've partaken — now has been blown away and will just be part of my yesterday. Finally, when I have no more strength, I just kneel down in surrender. Waiting for my fate. Waiting for the journey's end.
