SYNOPSIS:

A taut, visceral two-hander, Red, features two characters: artist Mark Rothko and his assistant Ken. Rothko is at the height of his career. Viewed through the lens of his youthful new assistant, Ken, we witness Rothko at the pinnacle of his creativity, but struggling through the creation of a series of large paintings, commissioned as a series intended to feature in New York’s brand-new Four Seasons Restaurant. As Ken and Rothko paint, they challenge each other to ask big questions about art: what it takes to create it and what its role should be in the world. IT WAS DISCOVERING A NEW APPRECIATION IN THE ARTS!

Inaamin ko, nung una nag alinlangan akong pumunta sa play na ito dahil wala akong ideya sa kwento, sa pinagmulang ng storya, sa mga unang gumanap nito ngunit may bumubulong sakin na subukan ko pa rin. Buti na lang ginawa ko.

Malayo sa aking karanasan ang pinakita sa play na ito ngunit dahil na rin sa superb na pag ganap ni JC SANTOS at BART GUINGONA, napa-"dive in" na rin ako at naging invested na rin sa kung ano ang kakahinatnan nina Mark Rothko at Ken.

Kung meron man akong napulot dito ito ay ilan sa mga sumusunod:

1. Hindi lahat ng talento mo kahit gaano ka pa kagaling ay ma-aapreciate ng tao.

2. Nagbabago ang mundo at ang tao. Kailangan mong sumunod sa alon kung hindi, malulunod ka.

3. Lahat tayo may kanya-kanyang pagtingin sa ARTS. Marahil ang positibo sayo ay negatibo sa iba at vice versa.

Kung ikaw ay mahilig sa ARTS, nakaka-appreciate sa lalim ng painting, tiyak na magugustuhan mo to. Kung hindi naman, subukan nyo pa ring manuod, maliban sa suporta na maibibigay mo sa Theater Community, makaka-diskubre ka pa ng bagong perspektibo at pagkilala sa buhay.

Magtatapos man ang series ng show nila, magkakaron ulit sila ng rerun kaya don't miss it!
